Belize GPH Scholars Promote HIV Testing on World AIDS Day 2016

Posted on 01/26/2017

In partnership with Hillside Heath Care International, a group of West Coast University nursing students encouraged people in Punta Gorda, Belize to get tested for HIV on World AIDS Day 2016.

The students, who are part of WCU's global public health program, were in Belize for two weeks to learn about healthcare systems and public health needs in Belize. Besides promoting rapid HIV testing, the WCU students offered free blood pressure and blood glucose exams while also providing education on HIV awareness, proper hand hygiene and the dangers of diabetes.
