Dr. Nicolaas van den Heever, founding dean and MSOT program director, welcomed the friends and family of the Orange cohort at West Coast University’s Center for Graduate Studies auditorium on Jan. 12.

Faculty reflections were shared by Dr. Ann McDonald, Dr. Erin Murray, Dr. Stacey Willis, Dr. Diana Gantman, Dr. Arameh Anvarizadeh and Dr. Christy Billock.

MSOT grad Andrea Bitar said she really liked working on group projects. She said it forced her to remain open-minded and resourceful.

"Don't be afraid to ask for help," Bitar said. "Make your classmates your best friends and have open lines of communication, because you will need each other to survive in the program."

After the pinning ceremony, Kwasi Nkansa said he was eager to begin his fieldwork and “tackle the world as an OT."

“I learned a great deal from all of my professors and everyone here. And they prepared me for the future. I’m going to miss West Coast University,” Nkansa said.
