MSOT ‘Orange’ Cohort Shows Heart at August Hooding

Posted on 08/14/2017

Some cohorts say they have heart.

At West Coast University's master of science in occupational therapy (MSOT) hooding ceremony in August, the "Orange" cohort went a step further and presented their handcrafted heart to their program dean.

"It was very touching to receive this beautiful artwork," Stacey Willis, Dean for the master of science in occupational therapy, said after the event. "These students know how to make a lasting impression and I couldn't be happier for them or more proud of them."

Dean Willis began the hooding ceremony by welcoming the friends and family of the cohort to the Center for Graduate Studies before giving her opening remarks.

WCU Co-President Jeb Egbert also addressed cohort and later presented the MSOT award for academic performance to Lorraine Ravarra. Dean Wilis joined him on stage to present the dean's award to Monica Barksdale.

The keynote address was by Heather Kitching, Occupational Therapy Association of California president. WCU assistant professor Arameh Anvarizadeh gave the benediction.
