West Coast University-Dallas Celebrates 28 New BSN Graduates

Posted on 02/20/2018

West Coast University-Dallas held its first pinning of 2018 at the MacArthur High School Auditorium where families and friends of the 28 graduates celebrated the beginning of the cohort’s nursing careers on Feb. 2.

Sigma Theta Tau (STT) honor society member and WCU-Dallas graduate JD Crow was eager to start his career, sharing that he was thankful for his experience at WCU and the people who helped him achieve his goals.

“My biggest Influence was my wife, who was a graduate at West Coast University a year before me,” Crow said. “I went to a four-year university but didn’t think I could get a career out of it. I saw how much my wife loved WCU and what she was doing so I followed suit.”

Fellow graduate and STT member Shaunteel Rodgers came to WCU with the goal of becoming a midwife and now with her bachelor of science in nursing degree, she can continue her education and become a certified nurse midwife. With all the knowledge she gained at WCU, Rodgers had some advice for future nursing students.

“Stay dedicated and find that special thing in your heart that keeps you going,” Rodgers said.
